第21回日本機能言語学会秋期大会は2013年10月12日、13日に神奈川大学で開催されました。
JASFL 2013 was held as scheduled on October 12th and 13th at Kanagawa University.
龍城会長の開会の辞ではコンテクストという概念についてお話しがありました。

日本語用論学会との学術交流協定に調印しました
The Research Exchange Agreement with the Pragmatics Society of Japan has been signed
このたび、日本機能言語学会と日本語用論学会は、関連学協会の会員の交流の促進を通じて若手研究者の育成と学術研究の発展に寄与していくことで合意し、学術交流協定に調印しました。この協定の調印により、日本機能言語学会と日本語用論学会の会員は、相互に以下のことが可能になりました。
The Japan Association of Systemic Functional Linguistics and the Pragmatics Society of Japan have signed a research exchange agreement to train young researchers and further develop research through exchanges of its members. Through the signing of this exchange, the following are possible for members of both the Japan Association of Systemic Functional Linguistics and the Pragmatics Society of Japan:
1. （例会・研究会等への参加 Participation in regular meetings/workshops）
いずれか一方の学会および研究会グループが主催する各種研究会やセミナー等の学会活動に、無料で参加することができる。ただし、学会事務局間での会員情報確認作業のために、開催一週間前までに主催者側に参加の申し込みを行わなければならない。また、当該の学会がその会員に対して参加費または資料代等の実費を課する場合は、それと同じ参加費または資料代等の実費を支払うことを原則とする。
Participation in research meetings or seminars held by either association or affiliated research group will be free. However, in order for the association offices to confirm membership status and communicate, registration must be submitted to the hosting association one week in advance. In addition, if a participation fee or materials fee is required of the host association members, as a rule, the same fee will be applicable to members of the opposing association when participating.
2. （年次大会への参加 Participation in annual meetings）
いずれか一方の学会が主催する年次大会に、無料で参加することができる。ただし、学会事務局間での会員情報確認作業のために、開催一週間前までに主催者側に参加の申し込みを行わなければならない。
Participation in the annual meeting held by either association will be free. However, in order for the association offices to confirm membership status and communicate, registration must be submitted to the hosting association one week in advance.
3. （年次大会での研究発表 Presentation in the annual conference）
いずれか一方の学会が主催する年次大会での研究発表を申請することができる。ただし、学会事務局間での会員情報確認作業のために、研究発表申し込み時に、いずれか一方の学会の会員であることを申し出なければならない。また、いずれの学会も、他方の学会の会員による発表総数をそれぞれの事情に従って任意に制限できる。なお、他方の学会で発表する場合、双方の会員は、別途申し合せた費用を他方に支払う。
Application to present research at either association’s annual conference is possible. However, in order for the association offices to confirm membership status and communicate, membership status in either association must be stated in the application. In addition, either association is entitled to limit the number of research presentations from the opposing association for reasons of its own. Note that when a member of either association is giving a presentation at the opposing association, separate presentation fees should be paid to that association.
附則 Supplementary Provision.
本協定は、2013年4月1日をもって発効する。また、上記協定の延長および廃止は双方の協議と合意をもって成立する。
This exchange is active from April 1st, 2013. The extension or cancellation of the above agreement will be approved after consultation and agreement.

1. 応募資格：日本機能言語学会会員に限る（まだ会員でないものが投稿を希望
する場合は投稿前に会員登録手続を終了しておくこと）なお、学会発表について
は下記の「学会発表にかかわるガイドライン」を必ずご一読ください。

Abstracts are invited for presentations at the Annual Conference of the
Japan Association of Systemic Functional Linguistics. Presentations may
be on any aspect of functional linguistics, including trans-disciplinary
studies, and may focus on such fields as multimodal, educational,
critical discourse studies, media studies, etc.
1. Qualification: JASFL members are exclusively eligible to apply for
the presentation. Non-JASFL members who plan to submit papers are
requested to register their memberships before submission. Those who
plan to apply for the presentation are requested to consent to the
guideline for JASFL presentation available at the following URL:

2. Deadline for submission: August 31st, 2013
3. Time of Presentations: 40 minutes including 10 minutes for question
time.
4. Languages: Japanese or English (Please signify the language you will
use in presentation.)

2013年度春期例会中止のお知らせ
4月20日に開催を予定しておりました春期例会は先月末の締め切りまでにワークショップの提案がありませんでしたので、今年の春期例会は中止なりました。参加をご予定いただいていた方々にはご迷惑をおかけして申し訳ございませんが、ご了承のほどお願い申し上げます。
今年度の秋期大会は10月12日、13日に神奈川大学で開催の予定です。発表申し込みの締め切りは８月末を予定しておりますので、ふるってご応募ください。詳細は、改めてご連絡いたします。
